Full-time. 40 Hours/week. May include evenings and weekends.
Capital Area District Library (CADL) provides library services to our local communities seven days per week. All positions will require some evening and weekend hours, including Sundays. While this position is currently assigned at the above location, CADL reserves the right to require all employees to be available for assignments at any CADL location.
Education & Experience
- Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, similar liberal arts field or its equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in communications or public relations.
- Experience deploying social/networking media and Web 2.0 tools in a
professional environment. Strong knowledge of podcast creation. Strong
writing and proofreading skills. Excellent computer skills including
Microsoft Word and Microsoft Publisher.
Nature of Work
- Under the supervision of the Marketing Director, is responsible for Web-based content creation, development and implementation of social media and assists Marketing Director in a wide variety of public relations and marketing projects.
- Evaluates existing and emerging social media tools in the context
of CADL's communication goals for various target audiences. Develops
and maintains social media tools as appropriate to achieve those goals
including Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, etc.
- Creates announcements and press releases for print and electronic
media outlets. Writes and proofreads as required. Produces
Podcasts.
- Assists with expos and special events and special events sponsored
by CADL Represents CADL on various library and community
committees.
Salary
$28,545 - $35,681 annually (plus benefits)
